TV Fame for Pippa?

No, regretfully. But Hearing Dogs Nina & Pippa  join actor William Roach, better known as Ken Barlow from Coronation Street, for a photo shoot. Organised by Specsavers to promote their Sound Barrier Star Awards, Specsavers will donate to Hearing Dogs £5 for every entry received.

Ellesmere Port Fire Station

Pippa needed a little help from June and Ian when firemen at Ellesmere Port Fire Station very kindly invited them along to their open day on 7th August. Ian survived the shiny pole to send us this photograph of half of Pippa taking a very relaxed view of the world's tallest fireman. Don't you just love the wellies?

Isle of Man

Pippa, June and Ian visited the Isle of Man in July sponsored by Manx Hidden Hearing, who donate £5 of every hearing test to Hearing Dogs. Their visit helped raise the profile of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, as you can see in this press release.
They visited, amongst other places, the Manx Retirement Association in Port Erin, who were very generous. The photo is on the occasion of a talk given to Guides, Brownies & Rainbows at Anagh Coar Primary School, Douglas, where you can see Pippa enjoying the attention.

Ian and June were also interviewed by Manx Radio and a two and half minute extract can be heard here.

North Wirral Inner Wheel Club

Pippa took June along to see the good ladies of the North Wirral Inner Wheel Club recently. Joyce Macleod, the retiring President, had chosen Hearing Dogs as the club's charity of the year and was thus pleased to present a cheque for £1500! As June said, "what a fantastic amount".
Many thanks indeed go to the Inner Wheel for such as amazing effort.

Dee Sign Choir

Choir in actionThe wonderfully moving Dee Sign Choir returned to the Cherry Tree Shopping centre in Wallasey on 14th November.
They performed from mid-morning to late afternoon, helping to raise funds for Hearing Dogs. If you haven't seen a silent choir signing to music I can't explain the astonishing sensation.  A very big thank you to Anne Hesketh, choirmaster, and all of the choir.
